Introduction & Purpose

Hello and welcome to my new blog, 'Eliza Shepherd's Reflections...'
My name is Eliza and I am a student at Australian Catholic University (ACU), studying to become a primary school teacher.
I have just created this blog recently in order to share my thoughts and feelings about various digital communication topics such as; creating and growing a personal learning network in the teaching community, the uses of online games and the impact of technology on the way that we communicate.
These posts will include various forms of information, such as written information, images and videos.

This blog is also being used as a platform to post critical reflections, which need to be submitted for a unit that I am doing at University, called COMM140, 'Digital Communication Technologies.' In this unit we are learning about the changes that are continuously happening in the world of technology, as we study to become teachers that will use this information to engage and educate children in the future. The children that I will teach in the future have grown up in an age where they are exposed to technology their whole lives. It is important as a student studying to teach these children, that I understand and engage with these technologies and learn about how I can use them to my advantage in the classroom.

Within my critical reflections, I will be referring to various texts and literature to back up the information I am posting, and they will be referenced using the American Psychological Association (APA) referencing style at the end of and throughout each post.

The information that will be presented within my posts is my own original work, and has not been copied or written by anyone else, except where sources and ideas have been referenced appropriately.
